1u2u products are manufactured by Dash, Inc. Dash, Inc. is a privately-held corporation established in 1987, headquartered in Kansas City, Kansas. Dash facilitates the construction and maintenance of a broad range of commercial and industrial computing platforms and networks. Dash is a wholesale supplier to the VAR channel, and was Kansas City's first supplier of PC parts and systems to the VAR community in Kansas City. Other Dash firsts for Kansas City: First wholesale PC system-integrator for VARs; First Microsoft Gold System Builder in Kansas City. Dash prides itself on providing high-quality equipment and parts for customers who expect reliability and high availability. Dash selects both its suppliers and its products with this in mind. It was this concern that prompted Dash to design and manufacturer its own line of rackmount products. Dissatisfied with the reliability and versatility that was obtainable from outside manufacturers, Dash now makes its own, broad line of 1U, 2U and 4U chassis that are used in applications ranging from portable "Disk-Jockey" systems to traffic-monitoring and control. The constantly-evolving technology requires Dash to make an ever-changing line of products to match new technology to a broad range of applications. 1u2u products are sold primarily through value-added resellers (VARs) and by a few OEMs. In certain circumstances, Dash will sell directly to enterprise and educational end users but special criteria must be met: the customer must have its own, in-house staff of competant IT professionals and must not out-source any of its IT functions and services, and it must already be routinely obtaining hardware directly from other manufacturers or distributors rather than from VARs. The purpose of these criteria is to insure that Dash is never in the position of competing with its VARs. In some cases, Dash may refer enterprise customers to VARs who have an appropriate specialization. Dash’s competitive advantages are a blend of the followings:
